“Don’t get attached” are the words that echoed through my mind as I tossed my bag onto the back seat and boarded my taxi. “Instinct” I first thought. It can never be explained yet I refuse to ignore it. I’m slowly falling in love with enchanting places. I guess that’s what Ibiza does to you…
Crystal clear beaches, hidden sandy coves, jagged cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean – Ibiza has it all! This sun-enriched beach town offers something for every traveler. It gives you that warm welcome that never leaves you. Each day I awoke from an incredible night’s rest, stepped out onto the patio, and thought, “just the smell of the beach can make me fall in love!” I quickly decided to dodge the club scene, rent a scooter, and explore the beautiful beaches of Ibiza!
Figueretas beach is Ibiza’s local beach located in the heart of the city center. For a city beach, it’s by far nicer than others that I’ve seen around the world. You’re also spoiled with various restaurants and ocean view accommodations along the beach promenade.
Just a short drive from Ibiza Town, along the southern most tip of the island, is the trendy beach of Las Salinas. Frequented by the rich and famous, Las Salinas is known for its party scene and nude beach-goers. Enjoy a few cocktails and take in the views.
Formentera (Playa Illetes)
Playa Illetes… this is one of THE best beaches I’ve ever witnessed and my favorite by far in Ibiza! CRYSTAL clear water and the longest stretch of soft white sand.
Two sandy coved beaches nestled beneath a rocky terrain is the picturesque Cala Conta Beach. The views are amazing and the sunsets, even better. Since this is one of Ibiza’s most popular beaches, come early to secure a good spot.
While there are two main stretches of beach, there’s a third beach, made available by partial stairs and ladders, for a more private swim for the adventure seekers.
Old Town Ibiza
I think most of us are guilty of getting caught up in the beach and nightlife that we miss out on the beautiful scenery of Ibiza’s Old Town.
Some places are beyond words. In Ibiza, time doesn’t move hour to hour but mood to moments. This is indeed true paradise.
Until next time, cheers to the Vagabonding Life.
